Baby Marlee

I put a new link under my cool sites to go to. It's Marlee's site. I put this on here so anyone can follow her progress and pray for her as she fights a rare cancer Neuroblastoma. Marlee was born 10 days after Max and I could not imagine going through something like this. Especially at this young age. I have known her parents Mikey and Jennifer since grade school and now that we are older and moved on, we stay in touch through Facebook. A bunch of us from high school keep up to date on each others lives and families through Facebook so you can say it's easy to get attached to one anothers family. Please pray for her and her family. We know she will make it through this.

Max is going to be a big brother

So I had my second doctors appointment today. I am 9 1/2 weeks pregnant. The due date is November 23rd. We are seeing the same doctor that was with us for our pregnancy with Max. Dr. Zimmer was very surprised to see us so soon but very happy for us. He said we are a fun couple and he looks forward to seeing us through for our second baby. The new baby had a strong heart beat (167) and he/she was very active. He was wiggling all around on the ultrasound and Zimmer said he was an active little thing. I said he is acting exactly how Max did. Funny how both of them were little busy bodies. So we have a very busy road ahead of us. It will be interesting how I will be able to chase Max around when I'm 9 months pregnant... We just pray that we have as good a pregnancy as we did with Max. This is all a blessing and we don't take a minute of it for granted.

This is when we told the news to Justin's family that Max was going to be a big brother. Justin and I made a bib with the letters Big Brother on it. We let them figure it out instead of saying anything. It was pretty funny once they caught on. This will be the 2nd grandchild for Justin's mom and the 8th for my mom. Sorry all but the sperm and egg bank is officially closed. We are blessed to be able to have two. It will be up to Chelsea and Ashley to add to the list. (and that wont be for many many many... years!)

Max letting daddy know he is happy to be a big brother. He says if it's a girl he will have to start karate lessons early!

Chelsea and Max having a stare down. Max is like don't mess with me girl, I'm a big brother now!

Spring Fair

Sunday was a great day to go to the spring Puyallup Fair. Max loved the animals however got scared by one cow. He started to cry every time he looked at it. It was pretty cute.

This is the cow that scared him. He looks happy now but a few seconds before this photo he was crying.

This picture has nothing to do with the fair. But I just wanted to show how he can get out of any chair if he isn't strapped in. He can get out of his green bouncy chair, the bumbo seat and his car seat. He is a real houdini.

Jame's Birthday

Saturday we went to my sisters on Whidbey Island to celebrate my nephew James 17th birthday. We ate and ate and ate and then watched the kids play on their mini motorcycle and scooter type thing.

Max loves to grab your face and smother you with his drool.

James opening his present decorated in Hello Kitty. He wasn't amused! I thought is was funny.

James making a wish. I think.

Tanner lighting the candles but getting wax over most of the cake. Nice try Tanner! Then he went to blow out the candle he used to light the rest and he blew out all the candles.

Uncle Tom and John and all the food that was prepared. I think the adults sat at the table with the food and the kids played outside!

On the mend

So Monday Max got his 6 mos immunizations. He is used to this and has never had an issue with immunizations. However since Monday he has been very sick. He has had a 102-103 temperature all week. Since a fever this high should only last 48 hours, we had to take him to the Overlake clinic last night. He also wasn't eating but 2-3 bottles per day. The doc did a urinalysis to make sure he didn't have a urinary tract infection. It came back clean so they said to give it one more day. Well today is day 4 and he is still sick. We took him back to Overlake to get blood drawn which is not a site I was ready for. You know how hard it is to see veins on a chubby baby? Not easy. It's more like poke around until you find a vein. They first poked his arm and found nothing then went to the top of his hand and was successful. Max screamed but since he is hoarse from crying all week, you really couldn't hear much. So we got some results back tonight and it shows he is battling some sort of virus. They said to see how he is tomorrow and we will go from there. If he is fine, then his body is fighting it on it's own. The doc thinks since immunizations temporarily weaken your system, he must have caught something during that time. Probably at the doctor's office. So Justin and I have not got much sleep. Max will cry if you set him down or leave him by himself so he had to sleep with us all week and not only that, but on our chest. So Justin stayed up until after 2am sitting upright on the couch with Max on his chest. I came down and said ok, it's my turn go get some sleep. But 17lbs on your chest is like your suffocating after an hour. So I maneuvered him so he was sleeping on my arm with his head on my chest. He was fine as long as he was touching me. Tonight he is sleeping well so I think he may be feeling a little bit better. Since Max is sick we missed Chelsea's play tonight that she had a lead role in. We feel bad since we really wanted to see it. I really hope we can make it tomorrow. I love watching Chelsea perform. Hopefully I can post something on that tomorrow!

6 month check up

Max had his 6 month check up yesterday morning. He is 17 lbs (50th percentile) and 27 1/2 inches long (91st percentile). The nurse said he had a major growth spurt. The doc also said he sits up very well for his age and he is also ready for solids. We will see how he likes cheerios. We still have to practice with the spoon since he spits out the food. However yesterday he finally drank from a sippy cup and this morning he held the bottle and fed himself! He surprises me every day. He did have to get more shots and he was much fussier from them this time than last. Justin slept with him in the spare room all night since he wanted to be by somebody. There just isn't enough room in our bed for all three of us. He is growing up way too fast!

More Easter

Sunday was Max's 6 month birthday and of course Easter. We had a lot of fun with the family doing Max's hand print that turned out backwards. His name is now xam. I think we will have to redo his hand print.

Showing Max his hand print

Doing his hand print. He didn't seem to mind at all.
Max loved his bunny. If it were chocolate it would have been gone.

No he didn't eat the chip but he wanted all the food that was around him.

Chelsea and Max acting goofy. Well at least Chelsea is! Max isn't sure what to think. :)

Growing up.

Max has been hitting many milestone lately. Here are some pictures from today.

He has learned to tear down his little jungle gym. I think he is getting bored with it.

He absolutely loves the cats. He grabs for them or tries to kiss them whenever he sees them. He is also pretty much sitting up on his own. Each day he gets better and better at it.

He is a man, he loves his remote!

And here are his two teeth and it appears he has one coming in on the top. Im sure that one will be here within the next few weeks.
Last weekend Uncle Dave and Auntie Arleene came over to visit and get their Max fix. We went to our favorite place Wingdome to get wings and watch basketball. It's never ending laughter with Dave and Arleene.

Max loves his feet. I think he forgot his thumb is on his hand, not his foot!

We love taking walks with the nice weather since we don't know how long it will ever last. However Max is getting too heavy for the baby bjorn which we learned on this walk. I pretended I had to go to the bathroom and he was sitting on my bladder so that I could give him to Justin the rest of the walk! Max loves being outside!
