The Zoo

Sunday we took Max to the zoo. He loves animals so we wanted to see how he would react to the zoo animals. He didn't quite know what to think since he usually only sees cats and dogs. But he liked quite a few of the animals. I loved the bald eagles and monkeys.

This monkey/ape whatever it was loved his foot. He was so cute.

He wouldn't go near this goat.

He attempted to touch it but then backed off. He only wanted to grab his face.

Max is learning all of his body parts. Foot and hands are his favorite and of course he knows his pee pee. He tugs on it every time I change his diaper. We are working on where his nose, eyes and mouth are. He also knows some of his colors. When I say get your green ball he can get it. Same with his red ball. Yes this is his mommy bragging about her child. If I don't. Who will?! ;)

Silly Max

Max was in rare form last night. He kept spinning around on the floor. Unfortunately I got the tail end of his wackiness!

Beach fun.

Saturday we drove to Long Beach for the Kite Festival. My stomach hasn't been feeling too well so I wasn't too excited about the drive. But we had a lot of fun. I got to show Justin and Max where I grew up and how small the town really is. He liked seeing how everybody knows everybody, all the houses I lived in and where I went to school. He also got to meet a few of my high school friends and the Mattson family which was my 2nd family.

We were pretty lucky once we got to Long Beach. The original place we were going to stay at lost our reservation. So we were out of luck as far as where to stay. So I said lets see if the Super 8 has anything by chance. (everywhere was sold out for the kite festival). So I went in and asked with my sad face if they had anything. The front desk checked and they had a cancellation. The last room. I was jumping up and down I was so excited. We just drove 4 hours (we stopped a lot) and were scared we had no place to stay. Plus Max was tired of the car seat.

This is Sportsmans Cannery where I worked during the summers. This was my favorite job ever!

The jetty. On the left is the Columbia River. On the right is the Pacific Ocean.

Fun at the beach

Max in his new Seahawks gear. My friend Becca from high school took professional pics of him. We will show you all when we get them.

Lots of kites that Max loved.

Ok. She isn't looking.

Almost there....

Yes!

Eat my dust mama!

Nothing stops Max. Obviously the ottoman isn't efficient anymore so we had to get gates. Now he is trying to climb over them. He does not like to be restricted from anything. He definitely keeps me on my toes. Especially since he is starting to walk. He takes more and more steps every day. Today he took 4 steps by himself.

Snuggle time

Max seems to make his way into our bed at about 2am each night. He insists on sleeping on me or up close to me. I rarely have any room to move and that is not fun when your belly is sticking way out and your trying to get comfortable. But I love it when he snuggles up to me. Justin took this pic this morning. I'm not too fond of pictures of me sleeping but I thought this was cute. I think we need a king size bed since we will have 2 little ones wanting to sleep with us.

Go Hawks!

Yesterday was a lot of fun. We went to the Seahawks training camp at their new facility in Renton. Its one of the best in the whole NFL. Below we also got to meet Justin's favorite Lofa Tatupu and we also met Nate Burleson and Jordan Kent. Lofa signed Max's jersey which was Lofa's number. It was pretty cool.

My favorite Deon Branch. We didn't get to meet him though.
