Christmas 2011

This was a very interesting Christmas season. Fun, sad, surprises, drama etc... I saw it all. It started off with my grandpa's funeral, seeing my older brother after 3 years, meeting a new brother I never met until last Thursday, thinking about my dad's passing 2 years ago and finally Christmas with my babies Max and Mckenna. As they get older Christmas a lot more fun. I love watching them write their Santa notes, put carrots out for the reindeer and cookies for Santa. Then watching them get up in the morning to see if Santa came. Christmas with the kids is the best!

Hey Dad!

So today I am getting the slide show together for my grandpa's funeral Wednesday and it's also the 2 year anniversary of my Dad's passing. So hey dad, I miss you and love you. Miss you a whole hec of a lot! Grandpa I miss you too and miss your wise cracks witty humor! One good thing though, the Hawks didn't disappoint me!! Go Hawks!

My grandpa's 90th Birthday this past July. We will miss you and I love you. You were a firecracker, wise man and smart ass! I will miss all your stories and the way you teased Justin for us not being married. I'm glad I got to hug you one last time yesterday.

This was an awesome Thanksgiving. We had a full house which I love. It took some years to get a house full. This is because we bought the house about 5 years ago, no kids, family all over the place and trying to figure out how to get everyone together for the holidays. So this year we had my sister Pam and her boyfriend. My favorite neighbor Denise and her friend Nuri. Justin's family; sisters Ashley and Chelsea, his mom Leslie and then the Brown/Greene family. It was a lot of fun playing my favorite game since childhood Tripoley, having drinks, food and company. Best Thanksgiving ever!

Frugal momma!

Yesterday I made homemade baby wipes and they turned out great. No more store bought expensive wipes. I am addicted to Pinterest which has a ton of awesome homemade ideas. Next on my list is homemade laundry and dishwashing detergent, hand and body soap/wash. We shall see if those turn out. If they do, I will have many months supply and will save a lot of money!

This past Saturday myself and the family walked in a 5k Pancreatic Cancer walk. I am so appreciative for the people who donated especially Justin's work. I raised about $600 from his work. I was touched by the compassion and support I got from Justin's work. I am so grateful and moved! This was such an awesome experience. I am not an emotional person but this was a very personal and life changing experience. My dad was so awesome and giving and rugged and matter of fact. I could go on and on. But I know I got quite a few of my traits from him. Today the 9th is his birthday. Happy birthday dad. Sandy, Nick, Raynell, Jenn and I are all thinking about you and there isn't a day that goes by that we don't think of you!!! hugs and kisses Dad!!!
