So we didn't do a whole this past weekend except hang around the house and plant flowers and vegetables. We finally had a weekend home which was nice. But it has been a good week of the kids accomplishing some cool things. As a mom you never know when they day will come that they "get it" and show you everything they have learned. But when they do, it makes me very proud. Because of the Strider Bike Mckenna can balance which is the purpose of the bike and ride "with" training wheels. She is only 2.5 so just the fact she can balance on a bike is awesome. I'm not expecting her to actually ride a bike until 3 like Max so we have some time. Mckenna is also half way potty trained (pee only) while at home (not out and about). She decided about 2 weeks ago that she wanted to be like Max and use the toilet. Ever since then she refuses a diaper. I so love this because when the new baby comes in Nov., having two potty trained kids will really help. Now if we can just get them to sleep in their own beds. This is our next big headache to overcome! And lastly, we bought Max a Leafrog Leapster a week ago and it has been a gem in getting Max to write. Next step helping him to read which I'm working on. Im not a teacher so I pretty much fly by the seat of my pants and use techniques I research. I think since I stay at home, seeing the kids develop and learn helps me to know Im doing an OK job. And lastly Max said some pretty funny things this week but the most memorable to me was "Im coming inside and taking a break. I'm just a little frustrated right now!" Justin and I couldn't help but laugh but also tell him he did a great job of expressing himself. The things kids say!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all! We had a great day. No breakfast, chocolates, lotions, perfumes etc... for me. Fishing and sitting by the lake! It was in the 80's and very relaxed. We went to Nolte State Park and took Max and Mckenna fishing for the first time. We didn't catch anything and Max was a bit impatient but Im glad he got to experience fishing. We will be doing a lot more this summer.
