This past weekend I went to Canyonville, OR to celebrate my dad's life. Justin and our family took the 8 hr trek to OR Friday afternoon and arrived in Canyonville at 1am. We stay at Seven Feathers hotel and casino which we love. The next day (after Max's swimming) we went to my dad and Sandy's home. We visited with her for awhile then we went and ate pizza with Nick, Raynell, her daughter Skyla and her husband Shane. Max and Skyla have no problem hanging out. She usually tries to kiss or hug him and he pretends not to like it! They are so fun to watch and gives me and Justin a break since they hang out the whole time. The next day Saturday we had a get together with lots of food, family and friends. It was nice to see all the people who have been friends with my dad for so many years. Sunday we went to breakfast at the local truck stop (oh yeah! it's country out there! lol. Love it) Max waved to all the trucks which was hilarious. For some reason he thought he had to sit down to do it though. After breakfast we drove to his favorite hunting spot to spread his ashes. Sandy told me all about his hunting and how he would find the deer. When I saw the hill he would go down to hunt them and then drag them back up. I was speachless. I was very impressed the lengths he would go to hunt. I could have sat up there all day just admiring the scene and thinking of my dad. We said our goodbyes and drove home. I will never forget this experience and I will never forget the fun I had with my family. They really know what family is all about and I admire them.
